2023 Child Protection Award Ceremony

Sydney Children’s Hospital CPU – 5 April 2023

The Cornucopia Committee was invited to attend the Child Protection Award held on 5 April at the Sydney Children’s Hospital.

We were welcomed by Bernadette Walsh and Melanie Russo to meet with the CPU’s great team of dedicated professionals. Our group of six were impressed to be able to see the work and achievements of both Randwick and Westmead in the simultaneous presentation screen. Congratulations to Janet for her Award in Child Life Therapy and to C2South for a Group at Sydney Children’s Hospital who work in partnership with the CPU.

Bernadette took our group on a tour of the facilities enabling us to gain knowledge of how the clinics operate. This was really worthwhile. The CPU team have really succeeded in making such difficult experiences for the children as pleasant and non threatening as possible. The beautiful interactive screen for the children, featuring colourful fish and coral is absolutely amazing. What a wonderful initiative.

Their morning tea was delicious, and we were really able to get to know the team in a relaxed environment. We look forward to an ongoing and productive relationship with your organisation.

A big thank you to all at Randwick.
