What a colourful and fun filled day. We were welcomed on arrival with bindis for the ladies, and an absolutely delicious cocktail – St-Germain Hugo Spritz, courtesy of CEO Luiz of Diageo, served by members of our wonderful committee. Maureen thanked our host Verun for this spectacular event once again and welcomed all our guests including Dr Lydia Garside from Childrens Hospital Randwick and Bernadette Walsh – Manager of the Allied Health Team. Our Milliner Neil Grigg added to the colour with a collection of his fabulous hats on display.
We enjoyed canapes served whilst mingling, followed by the talented Bollywood Dancers who entertained us throughout the day. Our guests were again invited to participate, which was fun for all – either in dancing or cheering them on. Manjits produced a wonderful buffet lunch.
Dr. Garside introduced Bernadette Walsh who provided an update on the work within The Child Protection Unit at Randwick. The function was also represented by members of the Child Protection Units at both Randwick and Westmead and RNSH. The serious fundraising then began with a spirited auction conducted by our long standing supporter, Ryan Clifton, followed on by our raffles.
The afternoon drew to a close with Maureen thanking Manjit, wife Kamel, and Varun and wife Varun. Manjit is recognised as being one of NSW’s top 25 most influential Indian Australians. From a Little restaurant in Potts Point, he has cultivated a remarkable hospitality empire spanning restaurants, event management, catering services and innovative pre-packed meals in Australia.
Maureen warmly thanked all our guests for their support, Justin for his ongoing photography of our events, and praised our hardworking committee members. A successful and wonderful day was enjoyed by all.
